		In March 1979, unitech was established during the early beginnings of the information revolution to provide microprocessor-based solutions in the field of automation services and products.

		Effective January 1, 2008, Unitech Computer Co., Ltd., still retaining 100% ownership, officially spun off its ADC Business Group to form Unitech Electronics Co., Ltd., which will solely focus on the design, manufacturing, and worldwide sales and marketing of AIDC (automatic identification and data capture) products.
